Project Description

Time for another stroll down memory lane at HMT and a glimpse at the living history that is the Cast Wall…

One of the first productions at the newly reopened HMT, Cabaret opened on this day in 2002.  Below is a section of the wall where some of the cast and crew of this iconic production have signed their names.  Can you spot them…?

Playing the role of ingénue Sally Bowles was one of Australia’s favourite stars of stage and screen, Lisa McCune, and as Fraulein Schneider, the legendary Judi Connelli.

Cabaret played for 106 performances at HMT before going off to tour the country, where Tina Arena and Rachael Beck played the role of Sally in the Sydney and Perth seasons respectively.

The show was a huge success at HMT, relaunching the theatre as one of the best venues for live performance in Australia.
