An exciting new production of an old favourite is now playing at Her Majesty’s Theatre for a strictly limited season, featuring an all-star case including Caroline O’Connor (Velma Kelly), Sharon Millerchip (Roxie Hart), Craig McLachlan (Billy Flynn) and Colleen Hewett (Matron ‘Mama’ Morton).
Chicago tells the tale of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who dreams of headlining in Vaudeville, kills her lover, then convinces her husband to come up with the $5000 to hire Chicago’s shrewdest smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn.
Chicago has been honoured with 6 Tony Awards®, 2 Olivier Awards®, a Grammy® and thousands of standing ovations. An estimated 17 million people around the world have seen Chicago which has played over 15,000 performances worldwide. Babes in Arms
Infants under 2 years of age are permitted to sit on the lap of their parent or guardian for a cost of $25.00. Entry tickets for babes in arms are available at the Box Office on the night of the performance, and babes in arms must sit on the parent or guardian’s lap at all times during the performance. All other patrons, including children over two years of age, must hold a normal paid ticket.
The show is not recommended for children under 8: It is generally advised that this performance is unsuitable for infants due to the following reasons; tripping hazards, row spacing, stairs, steep rakes and the lack of light in the auditorium during a performance can be particularly hazardous when carrying an infant within the theatre; production elements such as loud music, bright lights pyrotechnic stage effects and show content can cause distress to infants; and the potential for disturbance to other patrons by crying or restless infants. Parents choosing to access/enter the theatre with infants, are asked to liaise with the theatre’s front-of-house management. Please be considerate of other patrons in the theatre. In the event of the infant causing a disturbance, we ask that you temporarily remove the infant from the auditorium. As the safety of children, parents and other patrons is of paramount importance, these concerns are brought to your attention for your consideration, so that you, your family and all other patrons can enjoy the show in a safe and comfortable environment.
