Danielle now receives a trip to Broadway in New York to learn more about the industry, $1000 cash, and tuition with industry experts.
The six finalists – all incredibly talented – performed alongside some big names in the industry, including Lucy Durack and the cast of Wicked, Caroline O’Connor, Craig McLachlan and the cast of Chicago, Anthony Callea and Rhonda Burchmore. HMT was very honoured to be the host of the inaugural concert, and we look forward to a long association with the Endowment to help emerging performers well into the future.

Mary Poppins, the world’s most magical musical, is coming to HMT in July 2010.
The announcement was made on Monday 13 July, by Victorian Premier John Brumby, with a satellite link to Cameron Mackintosh and Thomas Schumacher in New York. Mary Poppins will be the third major musical Cameron Mackintosh has brought to HMT – the first being the legendary Cats in 1988, and the second just two years ago with Louise Withers, Miss Saigon – marking Melbourne as Australia’s theatre capital, and The Maj as its premiere stage.
Based on the beloved books by Australia’s P.L. Travers and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins is produced by the legendary Cameron Mackintosh and Thomas Schumacher for Disney Theatrical Productions. Since opening in London in 2004 and New York in 2006, Mary Poppins has already been seen by 4.2 million theatregoers worldwide and grossed over $US 333m. It has also earned several Tony and Olivier Award nominations.
